Royal Orchid Regenta Hotels appoints the marketing maverick Chirag Talwar as their director of marketing

Chirag Talwar has joined Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels as Director of Marketing. With 52 operating hotels and 100+ planned for 2022, the brand offers a thrilling, fast-paced work environment. Chirag brings to the table 12 years of experience in leading strategy and teams across airline, hospitality and travel companies. His last assignment was with Yatra.com as national head of marketing and he has worked with Hilton Worldwide, Hotelivate (erstwhile HVS) and Virgin Atlantic in the past. Chirag’s plans here are to build on the brand’s distinctly warm Indian Hospitality and to orchestrate this to guests through an ecosystem which always keeps them at its ‘centre’. He is upbeat about integrating latest technologies and charting a superior guest journey. He works closely with the founder of the group Mr Chander Baljee, and assists him in implementing an expansion strategy – part of which is automation, AI and an omni-channel communication approach for guests.

An admirer of concoctions and hearty cuisine, he loves to spend time mastering cocktails at Jeff’s and selecting descriptors for slow-cooked kebabs at Tiger Trail. Chirag has recently moved to Bangalore from Gurgaon. An avid off-roader, he meticulously schedules his weekends and plans to drive and explore Hampi, Mysore, Shimoga, Belgaum, and unwind at Goa in December. Luckily for him, Royal Orchid & Regenta has hotels and resorts in all these locations so a great night of sleep and friendly hospitality is always assured. In his role, Chirag will also work with Presidency College of Hotel Management, an initiative of the Royal Orchid group, which aims to provide skill development training to 10,000 students who are limited by financial means, over the next three years.

He stays with his wife Shikha, a communication consultant. She’s a vegetarian, which means he also gets to sample great tasting vegetarian food. “Marketers can’t afford to go wrong with their flavours, the chefs will always catch them. So well, the wife to the rescue”, he jovially signs off.
